There’s something so addicting about these vegan sweet potato brownies! They’re easy to make, great for on-the-go and totally satisfying! You can eat them for dessert, snack or even lunch 😉 – there’s quite the health benefits to these little chocolaty squares. They pack a punch of nutrition with a lot of vitamin A and iron and taste so delicious with almost anything you pair them with!

Sweet potatoes are a fantastic base for this recipe. Besides the fact that I love them and they are so easy to bake with, we reap many health benefits from eating sweet potatoes. So if I can turn them into a delicious treat like brownies… COUNT ME IN 🙌 !

Once you try this recipe out yourself, you may find you want a little more carob powder, maybe an extra scoop of sugar… or another banana if you’re a banana girl like me (✌️😁). To me, this is a very basic, interchangeable recipe where you may find you want to substitute beets for sweet potatoes, or the Japanese sweet potatoes taste better to you as opposed to the most common orange variety. Take this recipe and make it yours because you absolutely need this in your life!

Vegan Sweet Potato Brownies

Simple yet healthy brownies so delicious you won't even know how packed with protein and vitamins they are!

  • 2 medium sweet potatoes, cooked
  • 1 banana
  • 1 cup all-purpose unbleached flour
  • 1/2 cup cane/coconut sugar
  • 1/3 cup carob/cacao powder
  • 4 tbsp hemp seeds
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp crystal salt
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup almond milk


  1. Preheat oven to 350°F
  2. Prepare 9 x 9 inch baking pan with parchment paper (or improv with a non-stick baking mat)
  3. Mix all ingredients together in a personal size blender or food processor until smooth and creamy
  4. Scrape batter out into prepared pan and bake for 20-30 minutes
  5. Let cool and slice into squares
  6. Enjoy with ice cream, strawberry chia jam, or just deliciously as is!


Sweet potatoes all differ in shape and size. You may have to use a different sized baking pan, improvise a bit, or simply double the batch!
